The YAHC Chapter is was chartered in 2011 and is hosted by Health Resources of Arkansas. The chapter consists of youth and young-adults ages 13-24 and adult partners from the 4 counties of Independence, Izard, White, and Woodruff who have had experiences within the mental health, juvenile justice, substance abuse, education, or child welfare systems that have led them to want to become an advocate and change agent for these systems. The YAHC Chapter is meets monthly on Saturdays from 1:00 – 3:00 pm either in Batesville or Searcy and by telephone conference call.

Community Service Projects
• State CASSP Family Fun Event- (July 16th): Chapter members facilitated games and activities along with Ozarks Region Youth MOVE AR local chapter members for all family and youth in attendance in Clarksville, AR. • Booth at Bikers 4 Foster Kids – Foster Friends Festival in Searcy, AR (White County on Sept. 24th): Darrell Johns, 2 chapter liaisons, 1 HRA staff volunteer, and 4 youth volunteers from the local community participated. Offered the following free of charge to those in attendance: face painting, balloon animals, temporary tattoos, coloring sheets, info on YMA, educational booklets/handouts regarding general social, emotional, behavioral health issues; donations received of approximately $75.00 to go towards cost of supplies for activities offered at booth; all our fliers on YMA were handed out and we had quite a few persons interested in the YMA organization; Darrell reported what an awesome opportunity it was to help out foster children and let others know about YMA. Event organizers reported that approximately $4,000 was raised and 5 new families signed up to become foster parents. • FYAN Conference- (September 30th-October 2nd) •Chapter members attended the Family Youth Assistance Network Conference and accepted leadership roles in facilitating teen activities. • Regional Fall Family Fun Day - (October 15th): YAHC Chapter Youth MOVE AR members accepted leadership roles and facilitated orientation of families to activities at Peebles Farm and Corn Maze; they carried walkie talkies and served as co-hosts of the family fun event Events. • Youth M.O.V.E. Conference- (June 24th-25th): Teens and parents attended 2011 Youth M.O.V.E. Conference “Taking it Up a Notch” in Jonesboro, Arkansas. • Youth M.O.V.E Winter Leadership Ball- (December 9th): Nominated YAHC Chapter members with leadership roles traveled to Peabody Hotel in Little Rock to meet other Youth MOVE Chapter members from across the state as well as Youth Advisory Board for networking, dinner and fun.
